Coolidge Civic Complex

This 70,000 sf building will help the City of Coolidge better serve the public by efficiently consolidating many City departments into a one-stop facility. The new Civic Complex will include space for Growth Management, City Clerk, Finance, Human Resources, Grants, Community Services, Parks and Recreation, City Manager, Information Technology, Shipping & Receiving, and Courts. In addition to improved service, the project will also provide the public with a new Main Library.

Located in downtown Coolidge adjacent to the Historic District, the project site is bordered by Main Street on the west, Central Avenue on the south, Pinkley Avenue on the north, and First Street on the east. This urban site has a 0' setback and has been expanded by an additional 30' to the north into the Pinkley Avenue right-of-way. Because the site is currently occupied by the existing City Hall, Library, Fire Station, and a modular building that houses Growth Management, the new project has been developed so that these buildings can remain open and operational throughout construction. Upon completion of the new Civic Complex, staff will relocate and the existing buildings will be demolished to create parking and related exterior spaces.

The new Coolidge Civic Complex, with windows and shaded balconies surrounding a courtyard, will be an inward-focusing structure. With bubbling fountains, paving patterns that reinforce the building geometry and deciduous trees that provide color and shade, the courtyard serves as both an exterior entry and a gathering space for visitors and staff alike.
