PCC Center for Integrated Learning
Tucson, AZ

A US Department of Education Title V Grant was awarded to PCC to create a Center for Integrated Learning (CIL) at the Downtown Campus. The grant was requested to create a center for student-faculty collaboration in flexible settings for contemporary teaching techniques and learning modalities.

To create the CIL, the existing library and computer commons were completely renovated with moveable and flexible furniture to provide formal and informal configurations, a student-requested colorful treatment of the finishes, and an upgraded infrastructure to support the information technology so critical to 21st Century learning styles.

The project also included new Learning Studios that are adaptable classroom spaces with wireless connectivity and portable furnishings—areas that can be readily reconfigured and customized for small and large group collaboration, instruction, and training.
